About Our Inn

We welcome you to our beautifully restored 1871 Italiante and offer you the ultimate in hospitality, warmth and attention to detail. Our goal is to help you relax and enjoy all Hannibal has to offer.

Located within Hannibal’s Historic Downtown District, we are just three blocks from Main Street where you will find a variety of shops, restaurants, art galleries, theaters, and museums.

If privacy is what you seek, this is your bed and breakfast. Each of our three suites are very private; no two are right next to each other or even across the hall from one another.

Our casually elegant atmosphere and old-fashioned hospitality will assure your stay in “America’s Hometown” is a memorable one.

Our History

This Victorian was built around 1871 by David Dubach (1826-1897) and his wife Emmaline (1828-1896.) Mr. Dubach was a nationally known architect who designed many notable structures throughout the Midwest. He was also a prominent businessman in Hannibal, owning several milling, lumber and brick manufacturing companies.

David and Emmaline had two children, Fredrick B. and Jeannie Mae. Jeannie Mae married Carolus M. Fette, founder of the Fette Orchard in Hannibal. The house remained in the Dubach-Fette family for over 100 years. The current owners purchased the home in 2007 and are only the fourth owners in the history of the home.

The architecture of the house is a combination of Italianate Villa and Second Empire. It features a tower, which is the essential characteristic of the Italianate Villa, and a mansard roof, which is typical of the Second Empire style of architecture. It has recently been renovated but remains essentially the same as it was over 150 years ago.
